The Apartment
Situated on a ¾ acre mature garden hill site that slopes down to a private mooring on Lough Corrib, this approx. 400 sq ft deluxe self catering double bedroom apartment offers a
deluxe king size bed with ensuite shower room and toiletries, open plan
living room, kitchen, dining and work space that is fully equipped and fitted out
to the highest standard. The apartment was purpose built in 2025.
*There is a luxury sofabed in the living area that can make for 2 sleeping areas.
The apartment is maximum 2 persons.
The incredible sunrises over the lake will astonish and welcome you to a new day!

Location & Geographic Area:
We sit on the western shore of the upper lake at Derrymoyle Bay,
3 kms up from Oughterard Village. To the north are Doon and Maam,
the Maumturk Range, Joyce Country and the 12 Bens Mountains of Connemara.
Lough Corrib has over 1,000 islands, including Inchagoill and its ancient ruins. Further up the lake is the rock known as Hen's Castle / Castle Kirk.
This castle, circa 12thC, was once controlled by the pirate queen Gráinne O'Malley (1530-1603). Lough Corrib is 176 km2 or 44,000 acres and stretches from Maam, Cong and Ashford Castle in the north, down to Galway City and the Atlantic Ocean, a distance of 42 km.

Very clean, modern and well-equipped for our brief stay. Hosts were welcoming and provided helpful information about the surrounding area.
The only things we might suggest are adding a drying rack… (DONE).having a washing machine was great, and secondly, the hot water from sinks can get dangerously hot - perhaps it could be adjusted (DONE). Overall a lovely stay - wish it could have been longer.

Un logement 5 étoiles, l'excellence, le confort et la gentillesse des hôtes
Logement très bien équipé (cuisine et machine à laver le linge, lave vaisselle) et charmant. La vue sur le lac est superbe. Nos hôtes ont été d'une extrême gentillesse. Il y a plusieurs plans et guides touristiques et Anna et Jim nous ont expliqué les différents points d'intérêt à voir autour du logement. Un lieu au calme, parfait pour se détendre. Nos hôtes mériterait une note de 15/10!!! Le petit mot d'accueil à l'entrée de la propriété et les explications en français montrent le soin qu'on mis nos hôtes à nous accueillir.

Jim and Anna were great hosts - very responsive and welcoming but respectful of our privacy. The space is perfect for a couple, simply and tastefully furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location, looking straight on to Lough Corrib, is stunning and very peaceful. Exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived, Jim and Anna went above and beyond to make us feel completely at home. Their property is a true gem—beautifully maintained, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed with every comfort you could possibly need. It’s clear they’ve poured their hearts into creating a space that’s both welcoming and inspiring. Every detail, from the cozy linens and curated decor to the well-stocked kitchen and peaceful outdoor space, was spot-on. We especially appreciated the personal touches—handwritten welcome notes, local recommendations, and even a few surprise treats that made our arrival feel extra special. Jim & Anna were the perfect hosts: warm, responsive, and genuinely kind people who clearly care about their guests’ experience. They struck the perfect balance of being available when needed without ever being intrusive. It honestly felt like staying with old friends—only with better hospitality!

A conseiller pour les amoureux de la nature qui aiment le confort aussi.
Les propriétaires nous ont agréablement accueillis et sont restés très discret tout au long du séjour. (Ils avaient pris soin de traduire les documents de visite en francais). Le logement est situé avec vue sur lac et intégralement équipé avec raffinement. (tout neuf). Situé idéalement dans le Connemara entre Galway et la pointe, nous avons pu visiter de nombreux sites paysagers. Le village de Oughterard est vivant avec des commerces de proximité. Nous reviendrons chez Anna et Jim avec plaisir

Nous avons eu la chance d'inaugurer le logement. Il est magnifique, bien conçu, réalisé avec des matériaux de qualité. Tous les équipements sont présents pour passer un très bon séjour. La vue est magnifique. Jim et Anna ont été très accueillants. Je recommande vivement.

Nous étions les premiers locataires de Jim et Anna ! Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement. Ce sont des hôtes tellement gentils et serviables . L'appartement est parfait et très bien équipé. Le cadre est superbe ! Jim et Anna ont su nous recommander de merveilleux endroits à visiter. Nous sommes sous le charme de ce magnifique pays . Nous avons adoré échanger avec Jim et Anna malgré notre anglais imparfait. Merci encore pour l'accueil.
